Associate is a grouping mechanism, that is used for effective management of the contents and the users. An associate can be your Brand or a department of your organization (like marketing, Sales, Accounts, etc...) or the regional offices etc. The point is that the contents that are grouped under a particular ‘Associate’ are accessible to the user under that associate.

 

Group/Display Group/Play Group is another similar grouping mechanism to manage the Players and Playlist. Playlists are allocated to the set of players under a group. So, in order to play a playlist in multiple players, all those players must be under the same group. 

 

At least one Associate and one Group is mandatory for playing a content/playlist in a Player.
